Ebay + wow gold Gift cards = Some people are crazy

So I was checking out gift cards being sold on ebay. People are paying more than the gift card is worth!! I have one question why would you pay more than the card is worth. Some examples are.

1- $20 Amazon gift code had a $100 bid on it with 7 bids.

Can anyone explain the thinking of these bidders? I mean most companies you pay what the card is worth and they usually offer free shipping of gift cards.

Lol me too (wouldn't that be a surprise in the morning!) Although I don't think it is, as the last couple of days I've seen over 10 a wow items day that are like that. bids higher than the value some only a couple cents and some dollars over! I know for the longest time people were buying Disney dollars for more than they were worth. They may still be it's been a while since I looked into those. They weren't even a collection series or low numbered series. Just people paying $.50 or more per Disney Dollar. Maybe they didn't know you can get them at any store or online for the value spent.

Check the bid history on items sold by the same seller. You'll likely see a buy wow gear history of a bidder with particular first and last letters in their username that is buying anything from the seller at impossible prices. This is likely a fake account that the seller used to trick buyers into thinking that the item is worth more than it is.

So you, the mark, are trying to get your bids done quickly. You see the words "gift card" and the net cost tricks you into thinking that the total value on the card is a little more than the value of the highest bid. Without checking the details, you round up, put in a bid, and the seller evaluates if they think they should risk putting in a higher bid from the fake account at the risk of not being able to force a dishonest sell to you, but with the hope that a bigger sap will come along and place a higher bid.
